Archipelago Hydrogen Factory – Ljusterö

A factory that shows the way forward

Operation start April 2026
190 kg H₂/day

About the Ljusterö project

On Ljusterö in the Stockholm archipelago, SHG Green Invest takes the first step towards a fossil-free Sweden. The Archipelago Hydrogen Factory is a pioneering project that shows how local wind power can be converted into clean, green hydrogen – directly where it's needed.

The hydrogen factory on Ljusterö is powered by a local wind farm and produces fossil-free hydrogen that customers collect directly on-site to fuel vehicles at a filling station. The project is partially financed by Klimatklivet and Region Stockholm via the Foundation for Sustainable Communities.
